Richland County Fair Queen Pagaent

Ashley, Leigha and I went to the Richland County Fair Queen Pageant tonight to support my niece, Alyssa.
This year's theme was La Fiesta. Each contestant came out in their Mexican attire and performed a choreographed dance.

After which, they each gave a 1 minute speech. Alyssa's speech was perfect!

Next came the swimsuit competition. Alyssa was contestant #4

Ending the competition, wearing an evening gown, each contestant was asked the same question and could not hear the other contestants answer. "How would you describe Going Green to our friends south of the boarder?
Each contestant answered the question with some type of recycling, reusing, saving the environment type answer, except for one. That contestant won the crown by answering the question saying they needed to get a green card so they could become US citizens. I'm not sure how that gained her the title and crown, but maybe her earlier interviews were really good.
Alyssa not only had her family supporting her, but she had her friends there too.
Although Aylssa didn't place, she is still a "Queen in my Eyes"! It takes a lot of guts to do what she did and I am very proud of her!!
